Production BOM POST/PUT Failure.

i am unable to post or put a production bom.  The api responds with 

400.0,[{"ErrorCode":400,"Exception":"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."}]

when I add a well-formed JSON. The Apiary documentation is full of errors and I can not get good guidance from support. Has anyone had luck using the API for adding/editing production BOM?
